Ukrainian, Elena Grigorievna Ponomarenko and Russian Vera Ivanovna Malakhova shared one inevitable thing in common and that was the USSR, formally known as the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. This spread of communism would take a place in these women’s lives affecting their ideology. Elena allowed communism to be the foundation of her life, while Vera used to advance in the education system and become a physician. After this I must determine mass load of branches that I will be cutting off. Then I must evaluate hinge points and branch swinging clearance. There is a lengthy process to climbing trees professionally. If I were to work on the same tree using an aerial lift, I would drive up to it with the bucket,set up the lift in an appropriate location to access the tree effectively, jump in the bucket, oom up to the top with my chainsaw and ropes, calculate swing distance, hinge points, mass load, and begin cutting. The theory is primarily the same but the method is different, By utilizing both crafts of climbing and the bucket, the overall efficiency of the operations will increase. The next important piece to examine is how involved a human being must be in the tree service industry. Imagine a tree climber working for a tree removal service, climbing a tree about ninety feet in the air thirty feet out on a branch. Being asked to cut off the end of that branch while hanging from the side holding a power chainsaw. Also this branch is located over a house. The branch is only attached to a rope, when it falls the violent up and down movement occurs with the worker still dangling. By separating the climber from the tree and putting that climber in an aerial lift it lessens the danger presented to the climber in the overall trimming and removal process. It could be argued that by separating the climber from the tree the overall quality of the tree work may decline. However, this issue could be resolved simply by awareness. By structuring company meetings to address issues before they arise, one can take control of the probability of an outcome. There are a variety of incentives that one can implement to raise company moral. Rewarding an employee with a fair wage for a hard job it makes them feel respected; by rewarding an employee with a piece of equipment that makes a hard job easier at the same hourly wage in turn makes them feel cared about. Physician-Assisted Suicide Kathleen M. Foley, author of Competent Care for the Dying Instead of Physician-Assisted Suicide, believes doctors should develop treatments for the physical and psychological problems of dying patients rather than helping them commit suicide. Available data suggests most physicians do not receive training in the care of dying patients. Dying patients experience physical symptoms such as pain, psychological problems such as anxiety and depression and existential distress (described as the experience of life without meaning.)(1) many of the physical and psychological problems can be treated. Furthermore, legalization of physician-assisted suicide may deter physicians from developing treatments that could enhance the dying patient's quality of life. Euthanasia by definition means "a gentle and easy death", "the good death of another" or "mercy killing."(2) There are two types of euthanasia currently recognized, active and passive euthanasia. Active euthanasia is the taking of one's own life, or being killed, for example, by lethal injection. Passive euthanasia is taking one's life with the assistance of another or just being allowed to die. In passive euthanasia we simply refrain from doing anything to keep the patient alive, for example, refusing to perform surgery, administer medication, give heart massage or use a respirator and let the patient die from whatever illness is already present. It is important to understand the difference, because many people believe that active euthanasia is immoral and passive euthanasia is morally all right. They believe that we should actually never kill patients, but sometimes it is all right to let them die. The main issue then is it morally permissible to kill or let someone die who is going to die soon anyway, at the person's own request, as an act of kindness? Throughout history, many people have thought that the distinction between active and passive euthanasia is morally important: and many of those who condemned active euthanasia raised no objection against passive euthanasia. Even by people who believed killing to be wrong, allowing people to die by not treating them was thought in some circumstances to be all right. Even before Christ, Socrates was quoted as saying, " ...bodies which disease had penetrated through and through he would not have attempted to cure...he did not want to lengthen out good-for-nothing lives."(3) In the centuries that followed, both the Christians and the Jews viewed allowing to die in circumstances of hopeless suffering, morally permissible. It was killing that they adamantly opposed. The Pope, stating the position of the Catholic Church, said "it is acceptable to allow the patient who is virtually already dead to pass away in peace."(4) In a statement published in 1982, the American Medical Association echoes the feeling of the Catholic Church saying, " we remain firm on our stand against mercy killing, but allowing patients to die (in some circumstances) is all right."(5) So it seems, there is widespread agreement that passive euthanasia is morally all right (in at least some cases), but active euthanasia is much more controversial. In essence what we seek is whether euthanasia active or passive is moral, or whether it is immoral. To discover the truth we must examine the arguments or reasons that are given for or against it. If the arguments in favor of euthanasia are persuasive and the arguments against it can be rejected, then it is morally acceptable. And likewise, if after careful analysis we find a strong case against euthanasia, we would have to conclude it to be immoral. I think this is true not only of euthanasia, but of any moral issue. The single most powerful argument in support of euthanasia is the argument of mercy. The main idea of this argument is simple. Terminal patients sometimes suffer pain far beyond our comprehension. This suffering can be so terrible that we cringe at the descriptions of such agony. The argument for mercy says: Euthanasia is justified because it puts an end to that. It is not important to give gory details of the suffering of the terminally ill, but it is important to keep these visions vividly imprinted in our minds so we can appreciate the full force of the argument for mercy. If a person prefers and even begs for death as the only alternative to lingering on in this kind of torment, only to die anyway after a while, then surely it is not immoral to help this person die sooner. He Is trying to find out what kind of men they really are and If they are capable of committing this deed. These lines support the theme of the play because Macbeth Is no longer able to trust people. Because he himself Is treacherous, he no longer Is able to trust others. In scene 2, dark Images are extremely Important In maintaining the mood of the play. One of the places that this can be seen Is lines 36-37. 0, full of scorpions Is my mind, dear well/ Thou knows that Banquet, and his Balance, lives. These lines show that Machetes mind is being tormented by the fact that those two men are a threat to him. Also, by using the word scorpions the dark and evil mood of the play are upheld. A second place in this scene where this happens is lines 53-55. In the preceding lines the image of light fading away and dark taking over is used to uphold both the theme and mood. The light destroying the dark symbolizes the bad destroying the good inside of Macbeth as well in the rest of the country. By using words like nights black agents and droop and drowse Shakespeare further continues the dark images. The poet continues these images through scene IV. In lines 29-31, There the grown serpent lies; the worm thats fled/ Hath nature that in time will venom breed The grown serpent that Macbeth refers to is Banquet and the worm thats fled is Balance. Macbeth is desperate to eliminate all of his challenges and is enraged that things did not go the way that he planned. This desperation adds to the ruin of Macbeth. The unnatural ruin of the main character is once again seen in lines 110-112, particularly when Macbeth says, And keep the natural ruby of you cheeks. When mine is blanched with fear. (lens 115-1 16) That statement presents the fact that fear now has a strong hold over his mind and sanity. There are also more references to dark consuming light. And overcome us like a summers cloud. (line 110) Essay II In order for this play to meet the characteristics of a tragedy Macbeth must be somehow viewed as a moral character otherwise his fate Is not tragic. At many points In the play his moral side almost seems non-existent, but In Act Ill, scene II, there Is a section where Machetes morality slips out once again. This section occurs In lines 15-26. These lines show that Macbeth does In fact feel sorrow and guilt for what he has done. Because of this he Isnt completely evil and does have potential for good.
